As the movie of your life unfolds, you are the "main character." All the people around you are "extras" in your play, coming and going, just acquaintances, adding to your complex story. But each one of those "extras" is the main character in their own movie, and you realize that you too, are an "extra", appearing briefly on their stage, providing the backdrop for the scenes that play out and flicker on the screens of our imaginings.
