The word is Prevaricate
My new favorite word is Prevaricate
Pronounced /prih-VAIR-ih-keyt/
This word comes from Latin “praevaricatus / praevaricari” (to act in collusion, to straddle) from “prae-” + “varicare” (to straddle) from “varus” (bowlegged). It was first used in 1631.
Can you think of a way to use this one in a sentence? Here's one:
"Poor Pinocchio’s propensity to prevaricate perniciously promotes probiscal protuberance prolongation.”
Yikes! That's a tongue twister. Your turn! =]:)
